About 10 Minute Timer

10MinuteTimer.us is an independent project providing free timing tools that work in your browser. Its purpose is straightforward: give you a readable countdown or elapsed-time display, clear controls and useful instructions without asking you to create an account.

What the site provides

The homepage opens with a ten-minute countdown. Other pages provide five-, fifteen-, twenty- and thirty-minute presets, a classroom display, work/rest intervals, a focus-and-break cycle, a stopwatch with laps and independent named countdowns. Each page has its own workflow and examples, while the basic controls and timing rules remain consistent.

The tools are free to use. You can start with the default settings, choose a short task label, test the beep or use a silent finish. There is no background music, mandatory video, account system or remote timing API. Supporting instructions remain readable in the initial page, while JavaScript supplies the interactive timer behavior.

How timing and saving work

Countdowns use a deadline to calculate remaining time. When a browser redraw is delayed, the next update can catch up instead of extending the countdown for each missed callback. The stopwatch measures active elapsed time and excludes periods you deliberately pause. Schedule tools also display the planned phases and total before you start.

These are browser utilities. Device sleep, suspended execution, audio restrictions and system-clock changes can affect the display or delay an alert. The site does not promise notifications after a tab closes, certified race precision or dependable safety alarms. For a time-critical reminder, use equipment appropriate to that task.

Settings and labels stay in the active browser page unless you enable local saving. Saved records belong to this browser on this device and can be cleared in the tool’s options. They do not create a public share link or synchronize through a site account. Hosting providers may separately receive request information when serving pages, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
